Baby Iauco: Valentine's Day

It has been a very cold winter this year and we have received more snow in Winston-Salem than we ever got in Washington. Of course, the District has been piled on this year, so we cannot complain at all. Most of the snow that we've gotten has resulted in fun days full of sledding and snowman building, while most people in Washington have been stuck indoors. Mary Grace is a total daredevil on a sled; she has no fear whatsoever. We managed to find some pretty good spots during the most recent snowfall, so we all had a blast.

Valentine's Day was a lot of fun this year because Mary Grace made valentines for all of her friends at school. When we asked her what happens on Valentine's Day, she would respond, "flowers and candy... lot's of candy." I got her some roses and Molly got her lots of candy.

We were hoping that the focus on Valentine's Day might end her obsession with Christmas, but unfortunately we still watch Christmas videos a few times a week and often talk about Santa and the Nativity Scene when we are sitting around the house in the evenings. Molly and I joke that Mary Grace is going to own one of those year-round Christmas shops that you see at places like Myrtle Beach and South of the Border. I guess if your kid is going to obsess over something, Christmas isn't such a bad choice.
