Baby Iauco: Pumpkin Time

We are getting very excited for Halloween this year. Mary Grace has enjoyed seeing all of the pumpkins, ghosts, witches and other decorations gracing the neighborhood. She isn't entirely sure what Halloween is all about, but she knows that she gets to dress up and get a lot of candy. She has been practicing her "trick or treat" line a lot, and knows we have a ton of candy hidden in the pantry. She often points to the candy and says, "try it!" Mary Grace is going to be a beautiful ballerina this year, and we will post pictures very soon after the holiday weekend.

In other news, Mary Grace is enjoying school quite a bit. She comes home with new art projects every week and shares her new songs with us as well. She is learning so much so quickly, it is amazing. She has many favorite books, and she knows them all by heart. She loves to read to herself, and can recite the books almost word-for-word.

Gymnastics are a major event each week. We have had to keep her home a few times this month due to all of the H1N1 going around, but we take our chances from time to time.

She has befriended all of the neighborhood animals, especially Bubba the cat down the street. We are currently weighing the pros and cons of getting a family dog. She obviously loves animals, so we feel like it would be a good thing to do now that we have the space.

Here are a few pictures of our last couple weeks. We'll try to post more often as milestones continue to occur. Mary Grace turns two on November 12th, so we are in the process of planning a stellar party on her behalf. It is so much fun to do these things now that she is fully aware of what is going on. She knows her birthday is looming, and will openly tell you that she is only one now, but will be two on her birthday.
